Good weekend for Kempton juniors

U/12 super league side wins 20/20 encounter

THE results of Kempton Park Junior Cricket Club’s weekend matches were:

U/8A beat Vosloorus by 81 runs. Batting first, Kempton scored 98/3. Man of the match was Ethan Kotze for his 15*, Jack Cannon 13*, Dino Binks 13*.

In their reply, Vosloorus made 17 all out, with Zaid Mahri, Jack Cannon, Ethan Kotze and Ethan Muller taking 1/0 each.

U/8B1 won the toss and elected to bat first against Actonville, scoring 124/ 7. Trystan Correia made 49 and Joshua Venter, who also took 1/8, 22.

Juan-Louis Uys took 3/7.

Actonville replied with 116/7, falling short by eight runs.

U/10 super league 1 played against Alberton, which batted first and made 99. Kempton’s bowlers all contributed to keeping the run rate low with Kayden Dickensen taking 2/16 and Nhlanhla Mahlangu, 2/11.

The batsmen started slowly but accelerated to reach the target in 18.4 overs, taking the team to a seven-wicket win. Floors Mynhardt top-scored with 47 while Connor White hit the winning runs with a solid 17*.

U/18B1 beat United by 35 runs in a clinical performance with most wicket taken by catches. Anton Lombard contributed to the wicket haul with his 3/4.

In a 20/20 home game, the U/12 super league side beat Geluksdal by nine wickets. The visitors were sent in to bat first and scored 84/8 with Rueben Jordaan taking 2/2; Dian Smit 2/9 and Jarrod Kyle, 2/11.

In reply, Kempton reached the target in the 10th over. Sarel Erasmus top scored with 27, Kyle Botes made 25* and Wiaan van der Berg 24*.
