Hector ‘paynes’ The Jackal

The ring ropes were covered in barbed wire, as well as their weapons

KEMPTON Park wrestler Hector Payne overcame all the odds at the SA Pro Wrestling (SAPW) Home of Hardcore event in Brakpan on March 4 when he defeated The Jackal.

With this win he became the new SAPW Hardcore Champion in a barbwire match.

The ring ropes were covered in barbed wire, as well as their weapons. There were also thumbtacks and panes of glass, but even after The Jackal received assistance from special guest referee Jacques Roque, Payne managed to pin him.

In the upset of the year, Harliquinn managed to end the year-and-a-half title reign of The Crow in a traditional SAPW hardcore match. Harliquinn had fans on their feet when he showed a very unexpected side of himself and caught The Crow off-guard.

In the other matches, Griffin defeated Jack Canon in a chair match; Warlock defeated Steve Eden, The Ripper and Londos Lionhart in a four-way elimination match; and Big Fire defeated Cowboy in a tables match.
