The 2017 Mosehla Easter Games (MEG) is to be launched on Saturday at Gata-lenna Corner, 34 Emoyeni Section.

Mr Tebogo Mosehla said MEG is empowering the community by being the only highly paid tournament in the history of township tournaments.

“It’s only 16 teams playing over four days. It means the winner only plays four matches then takes away R100k,” he said.

“Runner-up winners pocket R50k and the Adelaide Golden Boot Award recipient receives R6k.

“The favourite player of the tournament also takes home R6k.

“Two lucky supporters who’ve paid nothing to come watch games get to walk away with R5k each.

“The Adelaide Ladies Challenge leaves the winner with R20k – no affiliation nor knockouts – just one match,” said MEG spokesperson Mr Mosehla.

The list of teams participating in MEG 2017 include Soweto All Stars, Amandla, G-String, Ama-Bee, Rebels, Timberland, Masokolara, Abarondoli, Alex Mates, Gwara Gwara, Overland FC, Marushia, FC Sghodi, Umlilo, Kuze Kuse and KFC.

Mr Tebogo Mosehla said the MEG 2017 fixtures will be issued on Saturday, April 1.
