LOCAL boxing fans are in for a thrilling time at Emperors Palace over the next few months with the announcement of two major tournaments to take place at the resort.

As Kevin “The KO Kid” Lerena’s planned trip to the USA next month has been postponed, the Fourways fighter has been included on the nine-fight bill announced for April 23. His opponent has not yet been announced.
Simphiwe Khonco will take on Lito Dante of the Philippines for the IBO straw-weight title on the Hurtin’ for Certain tournament bill on June 10.
On the same night, Johnny “The Hurricane” Muller and Thabiso “The Rock” Mchunu will battle it out for the ABU cruiserweight title in a fight scheduled for 10 rounds.
