Short route of Emperors Classic Cycle Race has changed

The short distance will now be 48km instead of 40km

THE route of the short distance fun ride road distance at next month’s Emperors Palace Classic has been changed due to protest action which is planned in Reiger Park on race day, April 23.

The short distance will now be 48km instead of 40km. It will follow the 98km feature distance route all the way to Carnival City before making a u-turn back to Rondebult Road where it rejoins the long distance to then follow the same route all the way to the finish line at Emperors Palace.

The Emperors Palace Classic is an official premier seeding event for the Cape Town Cycle Tour.

The historic tenth edition of “the race of dreams” takes place on April 22 and 23 and the organisers have seen a dramatic increase in entries following the cancellation of the Cape Town Cycle Tour.
