WATCH: Mothers, daughters train together during netball boot camp

Coach Nontle Gwavu took the women through a gruelling few hours of intense cardio and strength training on the field before hitting the netball courts

A team of mothers and their daughters enjoyed a fun bonding day with an intense netball camp day on Saturday.

Kempton Park Netball Club organised their first netball bootcamp and clinic, hosted at Edleen Primary School, which they also use as their training grounds on Saturdays.

Community members and players from other netball clubs, including Avis and Birch Acres teams, joined the bootcamp, which started at 7.30am.

Some of the women were joined by their young daughters, who are also part of Kempton Netball Club.

Coach Nontle Gwavu, who has her own training academy and also coaches at Redhill School, took the women through a gruelling few hours of intense cardio and strength training on the field before hitting the netball courts.

The club’s Rebecca Tshosane said this was something the club would like to have more often.

“We also want to come up with other initiatives so we can help raise funds for the school, because they have been so generous to us by allowing us to use their netball courts for our training
