Young Tyla jumps to gold

This is the Grade seven girl’s first SANESA (Class P1SJ03 Jumping 50cm)

TYLA Brown, competing for her school, Aston Manor Primary School, came first in her showjumping class at the third South African National Equestrian Schools Association (Sanesa) event at Eaton Farm at the weekend.

Tyla and her horse, Raffirty, beat her closest competitor by five seconds in the jump-off. They were also placed in ideal time.

There have been three Sanesa Qualifiers to date this year, with Tyla’s positions in her showjumping class being third in Q1, first in Q2 and first in Q3.

This is the Grade Seven girl’s first Sanesa event (Class P1SJ03 Jumping 50cm).

She rides at 5th Avenue Equestrian on High Road and is trained and mentored by Charleen Swanepoel.

5th Avenue Equestrian had a showjumping competition on April 30 where Tyla won all three of her rounds, jumping in the 70 and 80 classes.
