ISFO produces five SA kickboxing champs
Seven club members represented Eastern Gauteng at the SA championships.
FIVE of the seven kickboxers of International Sport Fighting Organisation (ISFO) who took part in the SA kickboxing championships came home South African champions.
The championships took place at the Old Mutual Sports Hall at UKZN Howard College in Glenwood, Durban on April 29 and 30.
The seven ISFO kickboxers represented Eastern Gauteng after they were chosen at the trials for the Eastern Gauteng team in February. They received guidance from their coach, Shihan Danie du Plessis.
The SA champions in their different divisions were Westley van der Walt (semi-contact junior boys u-69kg; also bronze light continuous), Marc St Arnaud (light continuous junior boys +94kg and kick light; also silver semi-contact), Claude St Arnaud (semi-contact senior men u-84kg), Brittany Crocker (semi-contact senior women +70kg) and Gerhard van Niekerk (semi-contact u-74kg and semi-contact u-69kg veteran men).
Magda van Niekerk won silver in semi-contact +65kg veteran women. Ruan Wolmarans did not bring home a medal.
