Kempton first rugby team hammers VUT 42-24
The second team lost 21-5 while the u-21 beat VUT 62-19
KEMPTON Rugby Club’s Edleen Spar first team beat VUT in Vereeniging 42-24 in the second round of the Merlin League on Saturday.
The club played well-structured rugby in the first half but let themselves down in the second 40 minutes of the match.
Kempton allowed the VUT players to control the game.
Although happy with the win, the players should feel disappointed with their lack of discipline and a yellow card.
The try scorers for the first team were Mike van Vuuren, Jacques de Jager, Brandon Bezuidenhout (2) and Janu du Toit (2).
The second team lost 21-5 while the u-21 beat VUT 62-19 with a stunning first half performance.
Kempton Rugby Club will meet Sasolburg in the Merlin League at Barnard Stadium on Saturday. The first match is at 12.30pm.
