Seruwe Aces emerges victorious in top eight tourney
Seruwe Aces FC conquers in a Top 8 tournament.
On Sunday last week, Seruwe Aces FC beat Moshishi Aces FC 6-5 in a top eight tournament.
Seruwe Aces FC’s coach, Christopher Sekwaila, said the game was good even though his team missed a lot of scoring chances.
“Our players lacked confidence in front of the goals. In the first half of our final match we substituted Cafu after he sustained an injury and when we went to half-time break the score was 0-0,” said Sekwaila.
He said during half-time he told his players to put pressure on their opponents and push them to their half of the ground.
“The second half was tough and we still failed to convert chances into goals. We did not do any other substitutes and the score remained 0-0 until the final whistle blew,” said Christopher.
The referee took the game to the penalty shootout where Seruwe Aces FC attained victory with 6-5 victory on penalties.
“The tournament was very good and it is a weekly tournament. This week we had strong teams participating.
The organisation of the event was perfect. I want to say well done to my boys for taking the first prize,” said Sekwaila.
