National BMX racing at club in Glen Marais at the weekend

Sunday will be a once-off day for the national champions

KEMPTON Park BMX Club on Anemoon Street will host the 2017 National Age Group Series and South African BMX Championships from October 6-8.

It is an event which is expected to draw scores of adrenaline junkies from across South Africa and from as far as Zimbabwe.

Dirk Uys, one of the co-ordinators of the event, said October 7 would see the last two legs of the series.

Sunday will be a once-off day for the national champions,” Uys said. Between 150 and 200 participants, aged from five to over 50, are expected.

“For the national age group on Sunday we will have age groups from six up to 60 years,” he said.

“The small elite class will be contesting for prize money. In all the other categories, participants will receive medals.
