Shooting the chute during Fish River Marathon

They finished their race in six hours and 35 minutes.

THE Hansa Fish River Marathon took place from Grassridge Dam to Cradock on October 6 and 7, 80km of fun rapids, huge wave trains and big white water.

Llewellyn Walters from Kempton Park partnered with Russell Blane to enjoy the wild white water ride at the guaranteed 26 cumec Fish River, an annual event where the water is released to flow to fill dams near Port Elizabeth.

The farmers along the river are geared up with their pumps in good working condition to fill up their local farm dams during the period and the canoeists converge on Cradock for a weekend of adrenalin and excitement.

They finished their race in six hours and 35 minutes.
