Blackpool FC conquers in the Top 8 tournament

This was the second time they played in this tournament

Blackpool FC whipped Mashashane FC in the final match of a top eight tournament and took the overall prize on October 21.

Blackpool FC’s club owner Themba Mkhwanazi said his team played very well throughout the tournament.

“This is the second time we are playing in this tournament. We had an injury in one of the matches but we managed to win,” said Mkhwanazi.

He said in their first game Blackpool FC was tipped against City Spares and Blackpool FC won 2 – 0.

“In the second game, which was the semi-final, we played against Ward 7 FC and Blackpool FC won 2 – 0.

In the final game we played against Mashashane FC and won 5 – 4.

In the final game we experienced a lack of scoring chances because the ball was not passed properly.

We didn’t score in the first half of our final game and then we made a substitution. We took out Tlou and put in Bajo.

We scored two goals in the second half which put us in the lead. Then the opponents caught up when they scored two goals to equalise,” said Mkhwanazi.

Blackpool FC made another substitution when Sfiso sustained an injury. They put Bafana in his place.

As the score was 2 – 2 both teams did not manage to score any more goals until the referee blew the final whistle.

The game proceeded to the penalty shoot-out and Blackpool FC won against Mashashane FC.

The final score was 5 – 4 in favour Blackpool FC.
