Barnstormer pilots fly high at Fun-Fly Masters

Despite the heavy winds, a lot of fun was had by all competitors

MEMBERS of Barnstormers Model Flying Club took the top three positions in the masters category at Fun-Fly Masters hosted at the club on October 21 and 22.

Sixteen pilots from different clubs around the country were invited. Despite the heavy winds, a lot of fun was had by all competitors.

Roston Dugmore won the masters category with 1 838 points. Second place went to Arney Seiling with 1 570 points and club chairman Danie Potgieter was third with 1 389 points.

The veteran class was won by Frasers R/C Models owner and Pretoria Radio Flyers Club member Allen Fraser with 991 points.

Second and third places went to Barnstormers members Ernst van der Toorn and Richard Castignani with 699 and 529 points respectively.

The sportman class was dominated by Lowveld Model Aircraft Club members Riaan Le Hanie in first, Alec Groenewald second and Jan de Bruyn in third place.

All who placed in the event received a trophy, certificate and cash prizes sponsored by the South African Model Aircraft Association (Samaa), Allen Fraser and more. Event organiser and director Johan Sieling, together with Bob Skinner of Samaa, did a sterling job getting the event and pilots together.
