Junior swimmers bring home ribbons and medals

All were awarded gold chocolate medals to be saved for after the last race

AQUATIC Academy sent a squad of enthusiastic junior swimmers to compete in the Mini ‘Lympics held annually at the Linden Pool in Emmarentia.

This event draws juniors from around Gauteng and the 25m races are hotly contended by many of the top provincial juniors.

Ribbons were awarded to the top eight swimmers in each event. The academy team brought home 17 finalist ribbons as well as five medals (two gold, two silver and one bronze).

Star of the day was Kyle North who won gold, silver and bronze medals along with two finalist ribbons.

Annebel van Wyk won gold for the backstroke event and Jayden Botha won silver in the breaststroke.
