Wizards turn on the magic at Phomolong sports grounds

Dribbling Wizards FC shine on dusty soccer grounds.

Dribbling Wizards FC were the winners of a top four junior football tournament played at the Phomolong sports grounds over the weekend.

The team beat Active FC 3-0 in their first game before triumphing 4-2 against Chicken Dust FC in their second and final match.

“The first game was pretty easy for my boys because the opponents were weak in their defence,” said Dribbling Wizards team owner Ben Seemela.

“The first two goals of our first game were scored by Odwa, starting 25 minutes into the game. The third goal came from Msizeni.”

During half-time, Dribbling Wizards coach Lifa Mwale encouraged the boys not to relax on the pitch.

“They had to make sure that they keep their positions safely,” Mwale said.

“I told them to defend and attack together because we knew that the opponents’ defence was very weak.

“We needed to take advantage of that.”

In the second and final game, Dribbling Wizards faced a more serious challenge from Chicken Dust FC.

“They were difficult opponents, but we managed to score two goals in the first half,” Seemela said.

“In the second half they equalised, bringing the score to 2-2, and both teams struggled to score any more goals until we ran out of time.

“The match was pushed to two minutes’ extra time. We used the chance and scored two more goals.”

When the final whistle blew the score was 4-2 in favour of Dribbling Wizards FC.
