Both Avion Park Cricket Club’s promotion and executive league sides suffered defeats at the weekend.

The promotion team lost by one wicket against Boksburg.

Avion was bowled out for 178 in 46 overs. Boksburg reached 181/9 in 48.3 overs. Joseph Wilken took 5/26 for Avion in his 10 overs.

The executive league team faced Elsburg and batted first, scoring 175 all out. Rian Swanepoel made 75. Elsburg scored 176/9 with Achin Sharma taking 3/28 in his 10 overs.

The junior results were:

U-8 Sun League: Avion beat Vosloorus. Avion 162/1. Vosloorus 38/10. Rikardo Wills 51*, Heinrich Boshoff 38, Dewald van Wyk 3/7, Dillon Dippenaar 2/2.

U-10 Impala League: Avion beat Bedfordview by 145 runs. Avion 236/1. Shaun Nash 105*, Slade Mowbray 69*, Keagan Pretorius 3/15, Marnus Otto 2/12.

U-10 Sun League: Avion 1 lost to Alberton by 10 wickets. Avion 97/10. Alberton 99/1. Jayden Joubert 31.

U-10 Sun League: Avion 2 lost to Bakerton by seven wickets. Avion 126/10. Jeandré Buitendag 47 and 1/18, Joshua Marx 26 and 1/15.

U-12 Sun League: Avion lost with three wickets to Bedfordview. Avion 78/8. Bedfordview 79/7. Stroebel Botha 19, Waldo Haasbroek 2/17, Lwandle Mkwanazi 2/5.

Colts League: Avion beat United. Avion 370/4. United 65/10. Luhan Brits 136 and Ethan Gower 145 had a 281-run partnership for the third wicket. Ethan McMean 2/8, Dandré Cronje 3/13.
