Lion Stars win soccer tourney

The event took place at the Lion Stars home ground on Maxwell Street and the aim was to say no to child abuse.

DLT Security Bodyguard Force, in conjunction with the Lion Stars Foundation, organised a soccer tournament for youngsters in and around Kempton Park on March 24.

Four teams took part in the event, Lion Stars from Kempton Park CBD, Kempton Park West FC, Mangani FC from Benoni and Winnie United from Tembisa.

Lion Stars won the tournament after beating Winnie United 3-2 in the final.

In the first match, Lion Stars beat Mangani 2-0, while Kempton Park West lost 1-0 against Winnie United in the other match.

Lion Stars would like to encourage youngsters, both boys and girls, to register and be part of the club.
