Swart’s bird a four-time winner
The second round of races was also flown from Winburg.
Riverpark Pigeon Club (RPC) had 12 members flying 159 pigeons in the second sprint race from Winburg on Saturday.
Pine Pienaar won the race with his blue-check hen that had a nett flying time of 3:11:44 seconds. The top 30 positions in the result sheet were closed in only five minutes and six seconds.

RPC had 14 members flying 170 pigeons in the young bird race. This week G & E Lofts (Elaine Russell & Graham Cheary) took first place by a margin of one minute and 12 seconds from Albert Neilson with their pigeon having a nett flying time of 3:19:6. The top 30 positions took only six minutes and 50 seconds to fill.

Forty-five minutes after the young birds were liberated, it was time for the old birds to race home. RPC had 16 members flying 200 pigeons in this race.
With a winning margin of 35 seconds, Blackie Swart won this race from G & E Lofts. Blackie Swart’s pigeon, a blue-bar cock with ring ZA GPU 14 1297 is now a four-time winner. The nett flying time for this race was 3:20:3 and the top 30 positions were closed in six minutes 55 seconds.
