Riverpark scores well in union flights

RPC also did well with the union results with Pine Pienaar placed second, 15th and 24th, Doves Nest B Team 13th, Beano Daschner 21st and Pieter van den Broeck 32nd.

Riverpark Pigeon Club (RPC) had 12 members flying 177 pigeons in the third leg of the sprint race on Friday.

Sky Lofts (Corrie Moller) scored four positions in the top five, with Connie Coertse splitting the second and third pigeon home.

The winning pigeon flew 286km in 3:20:20.

On Saturday the young bird race pigeons were liberated from Bloemfontein. For the second week in a row, G & E Lofts (Graham Cheary & Elaine Russell) were the winners, with a margin of 19 seconds from Blackie Swart.

The winning pigeon had a nett flying time of 3:37:10. At the time of going to print, G & E Lofts were placed third in the GPU and Blackie Swart fourth.

For the first time in a long time, RPC has nine positions in the GPU top 50 with Connie Coertse 11th, Blackie Swart also 24th, Fred van Rensburg 25th and 28th, Flip van Staden 37th and 39th and Bakgat Lofts (Danalien Snyman) 48th.

The open race (old birds) was also the first combined liberation with other pigeon unions and federations. RPC had 16 members flying 200 pigeons.

The nett flying time for this race was 3:34:56. Pine Pienaar was the winner by a margin of 1:31 from Doves Nest B Team (Gawie Botha).

RPC also did well with the union results with Pine Pienaar placed second, 15th and 24th, Doves Nest B Team 13th, Beano Daschner 21st and Pieter van den Broeck 32nd.
