Blackie Swart tops Riverpark Pigeon Club’s racing logs
Riverpark had eight positions in the top 100 on the Gauteng Pigeon Union results with Blackie Swart’s pigeon in 25th position.
With his second sprint race win, Blackie Swart of Riverpark Pigeon Club beat Sky Lofts (Corrie Moller) by one minute and 21 seconds on Friday.
The winning pigeon flew 356km from Verkeerdevlei in 5:6:49.

At this midway point, Swart is leading the points at Riverpark with the single bird (first bird to count) points, followed by Sky Lofts (Corrie Moller) and then Bean Daschner.
In all bird points, Swart is again in pole position, followed by Fred van Rensburg and Flip van Staden.
In the young bird race from Dewetsdorp on Saturday, Sky Lofts (Corrie Moller) recorded its first win of the season. There were also north-easterly winds blowing and the winning pigeon took 5:2:27 to fly the 405.4km to its loft. Sky Lofts placed 12th in the union.

This race was the last of the short distance races and the top three positions in the young bird single bird average short distance (1st pigeon to count) are Blackie Swart, Flip van Staden and Fred van Rensburg.
With the young bird, all bird average short distance the top three positions are G&E Lofts (Graham Cheary & Elaine Russell), Sky Lofts (Corrie Moller) and Doves Nest Guest House (Gawie Botha).
With his first open race win of the season, Fred van Rensburg beat Pieter van den Broeck by a margin of one minute seven seconds. Van Rensburg placed eighth in the union and the club had seven positions in the top 100.

Kosmos Pigeon Club
The Sandgawies won Kosmos Pigeon Club’s young bird race from Dewetsdorp on Saturday and also obtained the first position in Gauteng Pigeon Union.
They were also 9th, 20th and 27th.

Stander Lofts (also 8th and 16th) won the open race from Dewetsdorp.
