Big golf event at Ebuhleni Golf Club on Saturday
Tembisa Golf Club hosts Ekurhuleni Golf Union.
Ebuhleni Golf Club will be a hive of activity as golfers from Tembisa will tee off in an Ekurhuleni Golf Union event on Saturday, July 14.
Tembisa Golf Club’s organising secretary, Benjamin “Benjy” Monyanyedi, among those visiting will be the president of Ekurhuleni Golf Union, who is also vice president of the SA Golf Union.
“Ebuhleni remains the hunting ground for young talent and is highly regarded as one of the main pillars of the club’s developmental assets,” said Monyanyedi.
“As a club, we have always been inspired and driven by the fact that as long as Ebuhleni exists, golf will prevail in Tembisa.
“Our hopes are pinned on four young men who have the potential to ensure our dream becomes a reality. They are Mayo Dimo, Stewart Mabena, Lebogang Makume and Themba Dube.

“Makume has a better chance of reaching greater heights, as he is only 19 and already strikes the golf ball like any other superstar golfer in the world,” Monyanyedi added.
He said the Tembisa High School grade 12 learner only lacks maturity and complete focus, as his school work takes. “Lebo has produced impressive scores at Kempton Park Country Club and we have no doubt we will be able to persuade our visitors to assist us move Lebo’s and the other three boys’ games to greater heights.”
A number of sponsors have come on board,Standard Bank, Coca Cola, SA Breweries and Somdaka Funerals. They all have supported the event with tents, beverages and food supplies for guests for halfway and breakfast, as well as a braai.
“The support they have pledged is most welcomed and we would like to thank them in advance. We hope to see them at the event on Saturday,” said Monyanyedi.
Golfers, especially Tembisa golfers, are requested to congregate outside Ebuhleni at 7am to welcome the esteemed guests from the union.
