Entries are open for this year’s Tembisa Mile

Entries are open for the 2018 Tembisa Mile and 10km races in Tembisa on October 28.
This year’s event, hosted by Tembisa Athletics Club, will be limited to 2 000 entries and the race will start and finish at Moses Molelekwa Arts Centre next to Makhulong Stadium. The 2018 race is the seventh edition of the mile and the fifth edition of the 10km race.
The registration fee for the 10km for Athletics South Africa (ASA) licensed athletes is R100. Unlicensed athletes pay R120 (registration fee and temporary licence).
The fee for the mile is R40 for ASA licensed athletes and R50 for unlicensed athletes.
Athletes can register online at www.tembisamile.co.za. Late registration will be taken the day before the race and on the morning of the event.
Medals will be given to all race finishers and the first 1 500 runners to finish the 10km event will get Spar goodie bags.
The race sponsors are the City of Ekurhuleni, Spar North Rand, M&M Marketing, Leso Estate, Garbie, aQuelle and Futurelife.
The total prize money for the event is R30 000. The winners of the 10km and the elite mile will take home R2 000 each.
