Annebel is top scorer in pool

Swimmers work hard to qualify for the highest regional and national events.

Only three Aquatic Academy swimmers entered the Gauteng championships this year, selecting a few chosen events in the hope of swimming qualifying times. Swimmers work hard to qualify for the highest regional and national events hosted around the country in March and April 2019.

Annebel van Wyk (10) and Mikayla Pon (11) have several level three times each, while Tambai Dutiro (13) has two SA junior qualifying times.

Annebel was the top scorer for ESP, adding 47 points to the board. In the four events she chose to swim, she won one gold, one silver and one bronze medal, and finaled in the 100m free.

Tambai swam three events, finishing on 23 points. He won two bronze medals, in the 200m and 100m backstroke events, and qualified for the 100m freestyle final.

Mikayla swam four personal best times and again qualified for all four finals to score another 15 points.
