The registrations for the 2018 iteration of Pick n Pay Swazi Inn Unity Games have now opened.
Players and teams in and around the Tembisa and Ivory Park keen to participate in the third edition of the Pick n Pay Swazi Inn Unity Games can register at the store.
PNP Swazi Inn takes the helm on the top 24 knock-out games to kick start on November 17 at Ivory Park Mahlangu Sports Grounds.
The finals will encounter at Mehlareng Stadium on December 8 where the top four best performing teams will walk away with a total cash of R108 000 including soccer jerseys, trophy and medals.
According to one of the tournament organisers, Frans Masilela, the long-term goal of the tournament is to create the best performing team for the area and grow the love of football.
“During this annual tournament, we scout talented soccer players who will be part of the team. Our aim as a store is to uplift the standard of football in the community and have a professional team which can represent the townships,” said Masilela.
Masilela emphasised that the very same team will groom and develop young footballers in and around Tembisa and Ivory Park areas.
“This can only happen if members of the community give us a chance and their full support during these games. We need football legends in the community to join us in scouting the talent amongst the players. It is our dream as a store to have a team sponsored by us playing for the professional games,” added Masilela.
Affiliation fee for the games is R3 500.
The closing date of the registrations is on October 25.
