SuperSport United School victorious in Western Cape
U/9 boys from SuperSport United Soccer School based at Festival Mall take the cup at a tournament in Western Cape.
The SuperSport United Soccer Schools Kempton Park team, based at Festival Mall, won the George United Football Tournament in the Western Cape on October 5.
The team was made up of seven and nine-year-olds and competed as u-9s in the tournament.
“There was plenty excitement around this tour, as some of the kids who travelled had never been on a plane or to the sea before. we couldn’t wait to take them to the beach to play five-a-side beach soccer on the Saturday. But before any of that could happen all the focus was on Friday’s tournament,” said coach Ryan Macfarlane.
SuperSport United Soccer Schools had George United FC and Transition Football Academy in their group.
The boys played some good football and won the tournament, scoring 27 goals and conceding no goals in the games they played.
“They were a joy to watch and really did SuperSport United Soccer Schools proud,” said Macfarlane.
The rest of the trip was all about football and spending time with the kids from the SuperSport United Soccer School in George. They played beach soccer and did a few training sessions.
“Overall it was a fantastic trip and one we are really looking forward to doing again in the future. We always say that SuperSport United Soccer Schools are where players are made and the future is definitely looking bright for these young stars,” concluded Macfarlane.
