Ghetto Olimpics Tournament a great success
Ghetto Olimpics Tournament entertain Tembisa sports lovers.
Ghetto Olimpics (STET) entertained scores of sports lovers at Mehlareng courts on October 7.
Founder of the Ghetto Olimpics Tournament Teboho Mahoa said the event was a success and he was impressed with the turnout considering that it was the first edition of Ghetto Olimpics.
“This is going to be an annual event. I would like to thank the City of Ekurhuleni for believing in my idea and for being there since day one,” said Mahoa.
He also thanked all the teams that participated in the games.
He said he did not expect the reception he got from the teams who accepted the Ghetto Olimpics Tournament invitation.

Football teams that participated in five-a-side (soccer) were:
• Pitbull
• Ben 10’s
• Gwara
• Ekurhuleni B
• Khalambazo
• Ekurhuleni A
• Dankie San.
A cash prize of R5 000 went to the winners of the tournament who are the Ben 10’s. Runners-up were Dankie San.

Teams that participated in netball were:
• Supergirls
• Superovers
• Brazillians
• Norkem X
• Jacquas
• Black birds.
The winners in netball were SuperGirls who took away R5 000 worth of sports equipment.
Runners-up were the Brazillians who pocketed R3 000 worth of sports equipment.
Third prize went to SuperRovers and they received R2 000 worth of sports equipment.
Mafika “Shakes” Sibeko, former Orlando Pirates and Supersports United Midfielder, and Joseph “skheshe” Mkhonza, Kaizer Chiefs legend and former Banyana Banyana coach, graced the tournament.
