Highlands Park heads into tough month

Highlands Park faces three tough fixtures

Following their 1-0 defeat at the hands of SuperSport United this past Saturday in the finals of the MTN 8, Highlands Park will turn their full attention to the Absa Premiership.

The Lions of the North, still licking their wounds, have a tough schedule ahead, with three extremely stubborn opponents.

On the list are the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, Chippa United and Orlando Pirates, respectively.

The home team will travel to Tshwane for a date against Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday, October 23.

The defending champions are currently on position three on the log table with 14 points.

Just three days after this clash, on Saturday, October 26, the home team plays hosts to unpredictable Chippa United at Makhulong Stadium at

8pm.

Chippa United are trailing from the bottom and are desperately in need of all three points to survive relegation.

Since the season opened, Chippa has only collected four points after eight games.

The third and final game for Highlands Park in October is against the Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates, who also had a bad start into the new season.

Even though the Buccaneers have had a bad run so far, they are comfortably sitting in position eight, with nine points after seven games.

Highlands Park are in position five with 11 points.

These two giants go head-to-head on Tuesday, October 29, at the Makhulong Stadium.

The home team’s spokesperson, Sibonelo Ngidi, has appealed to the soccer-loving fraternity to rally behind the team during these tough upcoming encounters.
