Kempton Park Wolwe kick off league season with a bang
The Wolwe are now ready for a challenging away game against Meyerton on May 11.

The Kempton Park Rugby Club’s Wolwe kicked off their journey in the Merlin League with a bang, hosting a thrilling home match against the Sasolburg Cobras on May 4.
The atmosphere was electric, further heightened by the SA Cup match between the Valke and Cheetahs, at Barnard Stadium.
The Wolwe second team faced a tough challenge, falling short 19-5 against a resilient Sasolburg side.
Nevertheless, optimism abounds as the team sees promising young talent stepping up and embracing the Wolwe spirit.

In contrast, the Wolwe first team put on a show, dominating the field and leading 11-7 at halftime.
Unfortunately, the game was cut short due to a power outage in the area, much to the frustration of coaches Jaco Lombard and Dean Krynauw, who still had a few interesting ideas up their sleeves for the second half.
Undeterred, the Wolwe are ready to bounce back, gearing up for a challenging away game against Meyerton on May 11.

Additionally, skills and development training sessions have kicked off for players aged U6 to U18.

“These sessions focus on honing rugby fitness and skills, grooming the future stars of the Wolwe for the upcoming junior season,” said Barnardt.
“Boys and girls aged U6 to U18 are welcome to join these sessions held every Monday and Wednesday at the Kempton Park Rugby Club B-Field from 18:00 to 19:00.”
