Van Riebeeck Park wrestler takes part at national championships

Michael Oosthuizen from Van Riebeeck Park, recently participated in the South African National Wrestling Championship.

Oosthuizen wrestled for the North Gauteng Province.

He won gold in the freestyle wrestling category for U13, gold in the Greco-Roman for U13 and a silver medal in the Hoërskool President High School wrestling category for U13.

“It was a hard and intense three days of wrestling, but we are delighted to see the sport growing again in South Africa,” said Trudie Oosthuizen.

“There were no easy fights; every point, action, attack and fall was earned and worked hard for,” said Oosthuizen.
