Gauteng Women in Sport calls for sponsors
In April, teams will travel to the National Baseball Championships in Cape Town. Gauteng will send two U15 teams, one U18 team, and two senior teams to compete.
Gauteng Women in Sport is seeking sponsors to support its unfunded initiative aimed at empowering women in baseball.

However, many athletes face financial challenges, and sponsorship is needed to facilitate their travel and participation.
Travel details:
• 15 juniors: Departing March 31, arriving April 1, returning April 7
• 10 seniors: Departing April 6, arriving April 7, returning April 13
U15 and U18 athletes require approximately R8 750 each for transport and uniforms.
U23 athletes, many of whom are students, need R7 500 each for transport and uniforms.

Despite financial obstacles, Gauteng Women in Sport is working hard to generate its own funding.
The initiative includes 80 talented athletes from Kempton Park, Benoni, Edenvale, Boksburg, and Palmridge.
Its mission is to empower and promote women in sports through direct community engagement, which also supports women’s health initiatives.
Financial aid and other support will help the programme grow and develop further.
With increasing media coverage, SA Women’s Baseball is gaining recognition, and the future looks bright.
