Help young dancer perform craft in Switzerland

The confident and gifted Maranatha Christian School learner has been dancing since before she could form full sentences; her love for ballet ignited the moment she learned to stand.

At 10 years old, Hannah Izzett pirouettes her way to the top of the ballet world.

The confident and gifted Maranatha Christian School learner has been dancing since before she could form full sentences; her love for ballet ignited the moment she learned to stand.

By the age of three, she already started lessons with Born to Dance in Glen Marais, and her dedication to the art form has seen her achieve incredible milestones beyond her years.

In October 2023, Hannah’s talent caught the attention of Mzansi Ballet, and they invited her to join the prestigious company, a rare achievement for someone so young.

Now, her journey is about to reach new heights.

This June/July 2025, Hannah received the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform with Mzansi Ballet in Lugano, Switzerland, as part of the Rhythm of Two Souths collaboration with Ticino Sound.

The international production will not only expose her to global audiences and performers but also provide an invaluable experience for her growth as both a dancer and a young woman.

“It’s a dream come true,” says Hannah, beaming with excitement.

“Dancing on an international stage has always been something I imagined, and now it is happening.”

To help make this incredible opportunity a reality, Hannah’s family launched a BackaBuddy campaign to raise funds for travel-related costs, including flights, accommodation, and other expenses.

They are calling on the local community, dance lovers, and sponsors to support Hannah’s journey to the world stage.
