Road Rash Rebels tackle Sani2C with grit and guts

Over three days of grit and endurance, the duo powered from Glencairn Farm to Scottsburg Golf Club — finishing strong with a time just under 21 hours.

The Road Rash Rebels team of Chris Botha and Willem du Randt took on the KAP Sani2C Adventure challenge in the KZN Underberg from May 7 to 9.

After three tough days of cycling 270km from Glencairn Farm to the Scottsburg Golf Club, Botha, from Benoni and Du Randt, from Kempton Park, finished the race in 20:53:42.

Competing in the adventure three-day race, they completed the 89km stage one in 06:06:55 on May 7. On the second day, they took off from Mackenzie Club for a 96km to Jolivet, finishing the stage in 08:36:25.

They completed the 86km stage three – from Jolivet Farm and Scottsburg Golf Club – in 06:10:15 for a combined 20:53:42.

Imbuko ChemChamps riders Marco Joubert and Tristan Nortjè and Sarah Hill, and Sam Sanders of Infiniti Racing were crowned the overall winners of the mountain bike stage race.
