St John’s College Easter Rugby Festival: St Stithians U13 beats Cordwalles in wet and slippery rugby match

As the 29th St John’s College Easter Rugby Festival officially got underway, St Stithians took on Cordwalles in a wet and slippery rugby match, with St Stithians coming out victorious.

The St Stithians Boys Preparatory U13 rugby team kicked off the highly anticipated 29th St John’s College Easter Rugby Festival on Burger Field on April 2 against the Cordwalles Preparatory School for Boys U13 rugby team.

Although the grass was wet and slippery, the boys played competitively, dominating the field with their skills, resulting in a win for St Stithians, who scored 14 against Cordwalles, who scored 10.

Speaking to the publication, Gordon Ephram, St Stithians Boys Preparatory coach, said he was proud of his team. “We played well. We came from a couple of horrible games that we played recently. Although we have things to work on, I am happy, because last year we lost against Cordwalles.”

Gadi Sibisi, the Cordwalles Preparatory School for Boys coach, said it was a tough match, especially because the grass was wet. “The wet grass resulted in our slow start, but as things dried up, we got better, guards came off, and the boys brought their energy on the field.”

Sibisi added that he hoped that the team would play better in their other upcoming games.
