THE City of Ekurhuleni, in association with the Soul City Sports Club, will host World Aids Day half marathon, 10km and 5km road races at Katlehong Sports Complex on December 1.
The race is aimed at encouraging participants and communities at large to unite in the fight against HIV and Aids and to show support for people living with the virus and also to commemorate the lives lost due to HIV related sicknesses.
Another objective is to create awareness about the dangers of unprotected sex and having multiple partners. Various NGOs in the field of HIV and Aids have confirmed their participation and they will distribute educational information and provide counselling services at the race venue.
Entry forms are available at all Central Gauteng races and at the metro’s sport and recreation office at Germiston Stadium. Online entries can also be made on www.entrytime.com or www.sa-active.co.za
