The pursuit of 236 for victory was made easy by an opening stand of 153 between skipper Fourie (80) and Wynand Hefer (66)

On Sunday the premier XI took a giant step closer to reclaiming the league with a convincing 8-wicket victory over Kwa Thema.

Kempton won the toss and invited Kwa Thema to bat first. They did a good job of posting a competitive 235/8 on a batsmen friendly wicket.

Jurie Snyman picked up 4/40 and Johan Fourie 2/42.

The pursuit of 236 for victory was made easy by an opening stand of 153 between skipper Fourie (80) and Wynand Hefer (66), which helped KPCC chase down the target in 39 overs and secure a bonus point and put one hand on the title.

The promotion team travelled to third placed Nigel on Sunday. Kempton won the toss and decided to bowl. Nigel applied themselves well and were eventually dismissed for 190.

The pick of the bowlers were Gavin Ralph (2/21) and off-spinner Jayson Gough (3/36).

Kempton got off to a nervous start, receiving a barrage of hostile pace bowling. once the batters applied themselves Kempton managed to chase down the target of 191 within 35 overs to claim a 6-wicket bonus point victory.

Stars with the bat were Brett Luck (60) and Josh Wilken (41*).

The Saturday first XI cruised to victory over Sunward Park. Kempton batted first and were dismissed for 111 with only Kyle Marshall (63) showing any resistance.

Kempton dismissed Sunward Park for 58 with Gavin Ralph (6/7) doing the damage with the ball.

The Saturday renegades, whom Bruce Buys represented, made light work of Benoni in a very emotional encounter. The win was dedicated to Bruce as was all the games that took place this weekend.

U/8B2 vs Vosloorus away at Sunward Park: Kempton 86/5. Vosloorus 75/4. Kempton won by 11 runs.

Kyle Stevens (24*), Eric Southey (20, man of the match), Christiaan Kloppers (3/2) and Jordan Southey (1/3).

U/10 super league defeated Avion by 9 wickets. Avion 67/10. Kempton passed the total for the loss of one wicket.

James Enslin (3/3), Devon Joyce (2/6), Ulrich Krause (2/12), Shaun Heuer (38).

U/10A beat Avion by 9 wickets and only needed 7 overs to score the winning runs.

U/12 super league beat United by 4 wickets at home. Kempton reached the 115-run target in the 20th over.

Man of the match went jointly to Keanu Jardim 4(/26) and Troy Kyle for his efforts behind the stumps and scoring 40*.

U/14 open team vs SOB. Kempton lost by 5 wickets.
