Edleen to host neighbourhood market

The market will serve as a platform for the community to either sell or purchase home-made goods

THE neighbourhood watch of Edleen will host its neighbourhood market day, an initiative to provide a platform for anyone who makes handmade products and would like to sell them, on Saturday.

All communities around Kempton Park are invited to attend, whether it is to sell your own products or if you would just like to see what others have in store on the day.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone to turn a hobby into a business.

Leslie Walker, a woman involved with the initiative, says they would not like to make it a once-off thing but to have it as a regular event.

“We would ideally like to host the market on a monthly basis and plan to use all proceeds to upgrade our recreational facilities to benefit all residents,” Walker said.

Stalls on display will include home decor items, wooden items such as cheese boards, scented candles and recycled glass products, scarves, blankets and jewellery. Entertainment will also be available for the kids.

The market will be held in the park on the corner of Carol van der Walt and Joan Hunter streets.
