Filth at transfer station continues

Soon after they left, the guy was back, carrying on as usual

CAROL of Norkem Park writes:

I am alarmed at the build up of rubbish and filth at the entrance of the refuse disposal site in Norkem Park.

It is also the entrance to McDonald’s. The rubbish extends to all the side walks.

Some guys are there every day, ransacking refuse bags and setting up shop on the side walk. The rest of the rubbish is just piled up right there every week.

The hawkers at the intersection also leave behind a lot of rubbish every day. I did see some officers from the metro police cleaning and removing a whole bakkie load one Sunday.

Soon after they left, the guy was back, carrying on as usual. Please, would someone from Ekurhuleni Municipality come up with a plan to stop this operation.

I am sure many residents in the area are just as fed up as I am of the filth. I also want to ask the public who may be giving stuff to these guys to refrain from doing this.

Looking forward to a clean area in future.
