Sing for Joy celebrates big screen
The concerts will take place at St Dunstans Cathedral, Woburn Avenue, Benoni at 2.30pm and 6.30pm
THE St Dunstans Music Foundation will once again stage its Sing for Joy concert on May 31.
This concert will be the foundation’s 12th production, the first having been staged in 2003.
It will once again be produced and directed by Malcolm and Janet Chalmers. Malcolm will conduct and Janet will do many of the arrangements as well as playing the organ.
Celebrating the Silver Screen promises to be a most enjoyable concert with a choir of about 90 members singing some beautiful and familiar sacred and secular numbers from the motion pictures. The choir will be accompanied by a brass band at each performance, as well as guest performances by the St Dunstans College Choirs and the Benoni High School award winning pipe band.
The concerts will take place at St Dunstans Cathedral, Woburn Avenue, Benoni at 2.30pm and 6.30pm.
Tickets are available at Daniella’s Jewellers, Farrarmere Square, St Dunstans Cathedral or from Barbara Arthur on 011-849-2886 or 083-306-8130.
There will be a food fair between the two performances and during this period entertainment will be provided by the St Dunstans College Marimba Bands.
