Germiston lead Caxton Reynolds Race after 3 rounds

The team that knocked down the highest number of cards within 60 seconds won the highest scores

At some point in our lives we have spent some time learning how to fire rubber bands from our fingers in order to hit a target, or to hit our brothers or our friends.

On Saturday the Caxton Reynolds Race took all the contestants down memory lane with a rubber band game called “Sharp Shooter Challenge”.

The contestants battled it out at Hirsch’s Meadowdale in Edenvale.

The game required the teams to employ their rubber band shooting skills in order to knock over as many playing cards as they could.

The team that knocked down the highest number of cards within 60 seconds won the highest scores.

The winners of this year’s race will win an all-expenses paid trip to Zanzibar, sponsored by SA Reynolds Travel Centre in Springs.

The Benoni and Brakpan team were unable to show up for this challenge which earned both teams zero points.

The fourth round of the competition will be held Boksburg on Saturday.

The three teams with the most points by the end of the seventh week of the race will go into the finals in Springs on August 2.

The three leading teams after the third round are Germiston City News (21), Johburg south (18) and joint third on 16 points each are the teams of Bedfordview Edenvale News/Johburg East and Springs Advertiser/African Reporter.
