Help raise money the black tie style
Part of the proceeds will go to charities in Tembisa, including buying school shoes for disadvantaged learners

RAISE money for the less fortunate while looking stylish by being a part of a black tie banquet and gala dinner on September 27.
Organised by Prudence Sihlangu and her partner, Tebogo Bulane, this event hopes to bring together the spirit of giving with a touch of style and glamour. You will get the opportunity to not only don your best gear and have a delicious meal but also contribute to helping those in need.
“Three years ago my partner, a few of our friends and I started a system of donating and assisting charities around our community,” Sihlangu said.
“Each year we take part in the Mandela 67-minute drive and in December we donate whatever we can to the less fortunate during Christmas time. So it has basically become a tradition for us.”
Looking for a way to raise money to further their cause, Sihlangu and Bulane came up with the idea of having a this black tie event where couples come together for one night, enjoy dinner and networking but also raise money for charity.
“Part of the proceeds will go to three charities, two in Tembisa (Inkateko Project Orphanage Centre and Bulamahlo Home) and one in Pretoria. We would also like to buy school shoes for older kids attending school next year.”
The evening will also include a presentation by the couple’s mentors, Mr and Mrs Molefe. They will address guests on marital issues and relationships in general.
The dinner will take place on September 27 from 6pm to midnight at Khusta Fa Guest House in Birchleigh North. The dress code is strictly elegant with a touch of black and white.
Tickets cost R550 a couple and include a three-course meal and welcome drinks on a red carpet.
