To celebrate South Africa’s incredible women, the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens in Roodepoort will host the irresistible kwela-pop sounds of Claire Johnston and Mango Groove, one of the country’s most beloved bands with a string of number one hit songs to their name.
Furthermore, acclaimed singer-songwriters Josie Field and Laurie Levine will also take to the stage for a varied acoustic set, ranging from bluesy vocal rock to folk-inspired country, amid the natural beauty and diversity of the indigenous gardens.
“This Women’s Month, it gives us immense pleasure to toast South African women with this special picnic concert featuring a selection of our most phenomenally talented female musicians,” says Bandile Mngoma, Old Mutual’s sponsorship manager.
