Top bands raise funds for children’s hospital

Mi Casa and The Parlotones will perform two special intimate acoustic shows at venues on the Nelson Mandela Square to raise funds for Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital

Two of South Africa’s top bands, Mi Casa and The Parlotones, will be performing two special intimate acoustic shows at venues on the Nelson Mandela Square in August to raise funds for Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital.

Mi Casa will host a special acoustic show at Hard Rock Cafe Johannesburg on August 20. Tickets for this event cost R500 each and will include a set food menu and select beverage options. Only 300 tickets are available.

The Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital Trust is fundraising to reach a target of R1 billion to build and equip the hospital, as well as train medical professionals to work in it. To date, they have passed the halfway mark, which allowed them to begin construction of the hospital in April. The hospital is expected to open mid-2016.

The Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital will be a world class, highly specialised children’s hospital that will change the lives of the children of Africa and shape the future of a greater Africa. It will work on a referral basis across all its centres of excellence.

The hospital will be located adjacent to Wits University’s Medical School in Parktown, Johannesburg.
