Herb and lavender festival at Uncle Tim’s

Information sessions are planned to take place at 10am and 2pm every day

A heritage herb and lavender festival will take place at Uncle Tim’s Centre on September 27 and 28 from 8.30am to 4pm every day.

The lavender festival exists for 15 years and was started in one of the first indigenous nurseries started by Brian of Uncle Tim’s Centre, 18 years ago.

This year will be the first for stalls and talks, as it is combined with Heritage Month. The focus is being extended to a celebration of all herbs and how to use lavender and other herbs in our gardens, in our foods and to heal our bodies.

There will be presentations dealings with topics like infusing herbs to support your natural health and beauty, knowing your herbs, harvesting and preserving herbs and using herbs.

The information sessions are planned to take place at 10am and 2pm every day under the trees at Uncle Tim’s Centre in Benoni.

Tickets cost R60.
