Reggae artist tops legendary Marley
He will be doing his promotional tour for his full-length album in the USA in 2015
LUCAS Franco Dumhi, going under the stage name Don Franco, has been signed to an overseas record company.
This 24-year-old reggae singer from Terenure was signed by Very Important Records (VIS), an American/Jamaican record company.
Since his first interview with Kempton Express about two years ago, his singing career has really taken off.
“I recorded a few tracks and videos and put it on Youtube,” he said.
One Drop Radio Station in Costa Rica picked up his song, One Drop, which was part of a compilation by VIS and More Life Productions. The station decided to make it its theme song, replacing Bob Marley’s version of One Drop.
Don Franco said it was very humbling to know your song had been picked over that of the legendary Marley.
The music video for One Drop was recorded by Mighty Touch Records in Kempton Park and released by Reggaville from Germany.
Don Franco has worked with big Jamaican artists like Sizzla, Fanton Mojah and Teflon. Kyle Capalbo from VIS also took note of him and VIS offered him a deal for an EP and an album.
Don Franco will be doing his South African promotional tour for his EP, Seek and Serve, later this year. Next year he will do a promotional tour for his full length album in the USA.
He will tour with Tebancee and Jeremiah Fire Izes in South Africa.
