A titillating taste of Tanzania
They celebrated their wedding anniversary by undertaking a Tanzanian safari
LEARN more about Tanzania from Peter Grube at the next evening meeting of Modderfontein Conservation Society in Modderfontein Town Hall at 7.30pm on November 20.
Fifty years ago, in a German boarding school, Grube fell in love with Flick, a beautiful young girl.
Romance bloomed, marriage happened 10 years later, a move to South Africa followed and some 40 years on they celebrated their wedding anniversary by undertaking a Tanzanian safari.
This enabled the couple to tick off another item on their bucket list and to consolidate their love for Africa.
Two more Tanzanian safaris have enabled Grube to put together a presentation that he will be sharing.
The Grubes have an abiding love of nature and have been active members of Witwatersrand Bird Club, the Spider Club, the Tree Society, the Botanical Society and the EWT during the 1970s and 1980s.
Visitors are welcome to attend this presentation and an entrance fee of R30 is charged to help cover expenses.
