Book fast to catch Hofmeyr live
Owing to years of experience in the music and entertainment industry, Hofmeyr’s voice is bigger and better today than it’s ever been
With just a few weeks to go until Steve Hofmeyr’s Toeka 3 concert at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena, fans are urged to book tickets before they sell out.
“We are expecting a sell-out crowd for this much-anticipated show by one of South Africa’s most popular entertainers. He has an exceptional ability to connect with his fans on an emotional, cultural and patriotic level, and this is what his fans will be coming for. Within a few weeks of ticket sales opening, around 1 000 of the seats were sold.
“There are still tickets left and we encourage fans to purchase theirs to avoid disappointment,” says Mireshnee Kisten, PR and Promotions Manager at Carnival City.
Steve has achieved many highlights in his career, from albums with multi-platinum sales and best-seller books, to successful television series, talk shows and sold-out concerts across the world. Outside of a song treasure of more than 200 original (recorded) songs, Hofmeyr has been able to deliver quality work throughout his rich career, build relationships and disprove his critics.
Over the years, Hofmeyr has become a monument for South African nostalgia, Afrikaans entertainment and he still rides the crest of the wave of this success. “I’ve lost some of my boldness to experiment,” he admits. “But I still take extra care of lyrical content and solid live performances. It’s not something I do, it’s something I am.”
Owing to years of experience in the music and entertainment industry, Hofmeyr’s voice is bigger and better today than it’s ever been. “I am literally reaching higher and lower,” he says of his vocal range. “I started out as a lazy bar-singer but I have learnt to improve technically. Coming off a low bass means I still have loads of opportunity to impress,” he jokes.
His third Toeka tribute has just been released and it is the songs from this album that he will bring to life on stage at the Big Top Arena at Carnival City on December 6.
Tickets to Hofmeyr’s Toeka 3 show at Carnival City cost R130 and are available from Computicket.
