Mashayabhuqe brings down the house

Mashayabhuqe, born Ntsikelelo Ndlovu, brought down the house during the Red Bull Kasi Lami held at Moriting Park in Tembisa on Sunday, December 7.

Mashayabhuqe has a talent to fuse African jazz, Maskandi, Afro-pop, Hip Hop and a bit of kwaito.

“I am inspired by people around me in the industry and through life in general. The likes of the late mama Busi Mhlongo, Thandiswa Mazwayi and Bhodloza Nzimande just to mention a few. I travel a lot and try to learn wherever I go. That is why my music can be enjoyed by everyone, irrespective of race or colour,” said Mashayabhuqe.

He had his fans dancing and singing along to his tunes like Shandaraba and Isigqi sesono, among others.

He said that being part of the Kasi Lami event gave him a chance to meet his fans in Tembisa.

“I am grateful to Red Bull for putting me on this list. It shows that they are in touch with the streets. My music is on the streets, where the people are. It is on radios, but mostly on downloads,” he said.

He added that with his music, he tries to encourage people to do what is right.

“We encourage people to not sit and wait and hope that things will just happen. We want them to stand up and do something for themselves. This crosses over all industries and sectors of life,” he said.
