Carnival City to host long-awaited Joyous 19 album launch

The Back to the Cross album launch coincides with Easter, with shows taking place from April 3 to 5

SOUTH Africa’s most celebrated gospel ensemble, MTN Joyous Celebration, will launch their highly-anticipated Joyous 19 CD and DVD at the Sun International’s Carnival City from April 3 to 5.

The group of talented gospel musicians will take audiences on an inspiring and nostalgic journey down memory lane with familiar Sunday school hymns and new compositions presented with the distinct Joyous flavour.

The Back to the Cross album launch at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena coincides with Easter.

MTN Joyous Celebration is a collaboration of harmonious voices gathered to present what South Africans have come to know as the greatest gospel hits in South Africa. The crew changes at least every two years, with performers undergoing an intensive audition process in order to be a part of the prestigious ensemble. This on-going revolution has resulted in 19 albums.

After nearly two decades at the pinnacle of the music industry, MTN Joyous Celebration continues to break new ground and reach new milestones.

Says co-founder of the gospel group, Jabu Hlongwane: “Our intention for this particular album was to go back to the basics, back to our foundation and to the music that touched and changed us and let the people of God commune with Him. When all is said and done our assignment is to lead people of God to the Cross.”

Tickets to the show are on sale at Computicket from R180 each. Fans are urged to book in advance to ensure they are part of this spectacular Easter gospel music fest.
