Arno Carstens one of five power vocalists in SA super group, Blood Brothers

The Blood Brothers concert will start at 8pm

Arno Cartsens’ fans will be thrilled to hear that the legendary alternative rock artist is part of South Africa’s first ever super group, Blood Brothers, which will unite on July 18 at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena for a one-night-only concert in aid of cancer education.

The multiple award winning artist, currently based between Cape Town and London, is one of five vocalists in the ten-member band going into “battle” for a good cause. The Blood Brothers collaboration also includes Kobus de Kock jnr (Black Cat Bones); George Van Der Spuy (Taxi Violence and Goodnight Wembley), and Albert Frost (Blues Broers)..

They will be backed by Hunter Kennedy (Fokofpolisiekar and Heuwels Fantasties) and Rian Zietsman (Taxi Violence and Beast) on guitar; Loedi Van Reenen (Taxi Violence) on bass, and Jason Hinch (Black Cat Bones) and Isaac Klawansky (Shadowclub) on drums. As one band, they’ll perform the major hits that made them famous, plus they’ll take on songs from the international bands that influenced their sound.

The Blood Brothers concert will start at 8pm. Tickets are available at www.webtickets.co.za and are priced from R250 a person. A portion of proceeds will be donated to the Vrede Foundation which educates young people about cancer.
